Dr. Fredrick Harris, Ph.D., DDS
Dr. Fredrick Harris, Ph.D., DDS, is a New York City–based pediatric dentist known for combining advanced clinical expertise with a warm, compassionate approach to patient care. Often referred to by patients as “Dr. Fred,” he creates a calming and welcoming environment designed to make dental visits comfortable for children and families alike. His philosophy centers on building trust, encouraging positive dental habits early, and delivering thoughtful, patient-focused care with both professionalism and empathy. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Harris also has an extensive background in scientific research, with published work in cancer biology and molecular medicine, reflecting his commitment to both education and innovation in healthcare.
Originally from Greenwood, Mississippi, Dr. Harris earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University before completing a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology and Biochemistry at Meharry Medical College. He later received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and completed advanced pediatric specialty training at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. His passion for pediatric dentistry was further shaped through philanthropic dental work in Uganda, inspiring a lifelong dedication to compassionate, community-centered care for children and families.
